Cooldowns

Cooldowns refer to the time it takes for a champion’s abilities, summoner spells, or items to become available again after use. Managing and exploiting cooldowns effectively can give you a significant advantage.

  1. Track Key Abilities: Pay attention to when the enemy uses their crucial abilities, like ultimates or strong crowd control spells. If you know their abilities are on cooldown, you can play more aggressively.
  2. Use Cooldowns to Your Advantage: If an enemy uses an important ability (e.g., a stun, dash, or escape tool), consider engaging or taking objectives while that ability is on cooldown.
  3. Cooldown Reduction (CDR)/Ability Haste: Some champions benefit greatly from CDR or Ability Haste, which reduces the time it takes for their abilities to be ready again. Building items that offer this stat can allow you to use your abilities more frequently, giving you more opportunities to trade, farm, or engage in fights.
  4. Summoner Spell Cooldowns: Keep track of when summoner spells like Flash, Ignite, or Heal are used. Knowing these cooldowns can help you decide when to go for an all-in or when to play defensively.
  5. Ultimate Cooldowns: Ultimates often have long cooldowns but are usually game-changing abilities. If the enemy uses their ultimate, you have a window of opportunity to engage or take an objective while it’s down.
  6. Cooldown Management: Be mindful of your own cooldowns. Don’t waste your abilities unnecessarily, especially in situations where they might be needed for survival or securing kills.
